To see the city’s famous bridges, head down to the Quayside. There’s a Sunday market there too and mind-blowing art in the BALTIC Centre. Then there’s Ouseburn. The city’s main cultural and creative quarter is the hub of Newcastle’s alternative music scene, with a ton of pubs, cafés and restaurants. Or swap inside for outside and the peaceful walking trails of Jesmond Dene.

For entertainment, The Gate is hard to beat with restaurants, bars, clubs, a cinema and a casino. Or save your cash and head to the Baltic for a culture fix.
