With over 100 societies and sports teams on offer, you won't have trouble finding your tribe at BCU. The university has its own campus pub, the Eagle & Ball, with cheap drinks and regular social events in the form of pub quizzes, open mics and karaoke nights.

Birmingham City University's main City Centre Campus is based in the Eastside district of Birmingham city centre, just a 15-minute walk from New Street station. When was BCU founded?

Birmingham City University traces its roots back to 1843, when the Birmingham Government School of Design was opened. Through the years, several other specialist schools were set up in Birmingham, and eventually brought together to form the City of Birmingham Polytechnic in 1971, which gained full university status in 1992.
